That means this is a great time to look at last-minute, low-cost getaways for some late winter sunshine, and work on your tan at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>But where to go, and what to do? Let Tinggly be your guide&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tenerife<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the nicest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has gorgeous beaches with golden and black sand, exciting volcano hiking, and plenty of fun watersports activities available. March is a really pleasant time of year for a Tenerife holiday &#8211; it\u2019s not as hot, or as busy, as it is in the summer months, but especially in the south of the island it\u2019s warm and you\u2019ll be enjoying around seven hours of sunshine a day, with a lower chance of rain than February. The 17th March is one of the most significant dates in the Catholic calendar worldwide, and in Dublin it\u2019s always accompanied by wild street parties, parades and performances of traditional dance and music.
