As part of our ongoing series of articles introducing our activity partners from around the world it gives us great pleasure to welcome Judith Perxés from Paddle in Spain who has kindly offered to answer some of our questions.
Judith is responsible for ensuring our awesome hydrospeed experience is as safe as it’s fantastically exciting and if you’re interested in finding out more about Paddle in Spain and just what it means to work as part of team Tinggly then read on and enjoy.
Hi Judith, could you tell us more about yourself?
I live with my partner and our two daughters in a small village in the Pyrenees. Winters are cold, summers are fresh, and thanks to the great natural environment our girls are growing up to be happy, healthy and peaceful young women.
What are your hobbies?
Travelling is my favourite hobby, of course, although I also like to dance, walk and swim in the ocean.
What’s your favorite weekend activity?
I just love relaxing, having fun and doing things together with my family.
Why did you start your business? What attracted you to it? What are the story behind it?
I was working with my husband in a rafting company in the Pyrenees but I was feeling that I needed to move my life forward. I created a website to share my knowledge of adventure activities as well as my experiences within the travel industry. This led to me starting to connect with tourists and local companies who were looking for different locations in Spain.
What is the most rewarding thing about your job and what makes it all worthwhile?
Taking care of a business online is the best idea that’s ever been invented! I can help clients to find our location, confirm bookings with the smartphone and check our reviews to make sure everyone is happy with our services. The only negative aspect is that if I lose my Wifi signal, then I’m totally lost!
What would you advise to keep a healthy work / life balance?
The most important thing for me is to be honest, confident and live every day as though it’s the last.
What are your greatest stresses in your life and how do you deal with them?
If someone’s a no show and one of our local guides is left waiting for hours not knowing what’s going on. This can be a real problem but I deal with it simply by looking for a solution and making sure everyone is informed as to what’s going on as soon as possible.
What is your favorite travel destination and why?
New York City in America because I lived there for one year and a half, and it was one of the best experiences in my life. When I go there I feel like I am again 23 years old.
However there are many other places I would still love to go and visit, as the world is very big and holds a lot of amazing secrets that have yet to be discovered.
Thank you very much for your comments Judith. You’re doing a grand job in Catalonia and we can’t wait for our next visit!
