Half Day 4WD Off Road Adventure to Macetown
Overview
Explore the rugged terrain between Queenstown, Arrowtown and Macetown on this awesome New Zealand off-road driving experience that takes you back to another era, and a historic mining town that was a focal point of the 1800s gold rush. You’ll cross the Arrow River some 25 times in each direction in a 4x4 vehicle, taking you fully off-road and through some of this region’s most epic landscapes.
Pass the famous Chinese Settlers’ Village, and the filming location for the Ford of Bruinen scene in ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’; in Macetown, learn about the town’s historic buildings, now long abandoned, and how to pan for gold with your guides while discovering the hardships miners endured, and their exhilaration when they found a score. Arrowtown and Macetown are two of the most important cultural locations when staying in Queenstown and this is definitely the most exciting way to see them!
