Outback Mountain Biking in Australia
If you enjoy life on two wheels and you’ve got an adventurous spirit, then there’s no better way to see the breathtaking raw beauty of Australia’s Northern Territory. Zipline Flight through the Mojave Desert
There’s much more to Nevada than just Vegas, as this experience proves. Four huge connected ziplines run through the Red Mountains, beginning with an incredible 1800ft descent, and letting you reach speeds of up to 60mph. Zipining is always a rush but here in the desert it’s that little bit more extreme, with the rough-hewn landscape far below as you soar above it like an eagle. Hot Air Balloon Flight over the Dubai desert
Of course if you’re going to have bird’s-eye views of the desert, you may prefer to enjoy them at a more relaxed pace, in which case this dreamy desert balloon flight will do the trick. Just outside of central Dubai, the balloon is inflated in time for you to be up in the air as the sun rises, turning the dunes a spectacular shade of crimson. The basket is spacious and comfortable, the panoramas are nothing short of spectacular, and if you want some romance, perhaps to celebrate a special occasion such as an anniversary, then you can’t do better than this. Overnight Bedouin 4×4 safari in Jordan
We love this Jordan gift experience as an authentic introduction to Bedouin lifestyles, as well as an opportunity to explore the stunning Wadi Rum wilderness. You head out into the desert by 4×4, past landmarks including Khazali Canyon, the Burdah Arch and the remains of a house thought to have once been occupied by Lawrence of Arabia. Sandboarding in Nicaragua
What, you thought that you can’t surf in the desert? Sandboarding is a seriously popular activity wherever there are dunes, but the activity that we really recommend is this Nicaragua gift experience, where you get to ride down the slopes of Cerro Negro, an active volcano! You make a short hike, around 45 minutes to an hour, to the summit of the volcano, have your photo taken for posterity on the rim, then get strapped in to your board and away you go.
