After Check-in guides gather group for a brief session covering basic kayaking, rules of the road, and the importance of keeping a minimum disturbance of the environment of the bioluminescent lagoon. Then we launch our kayaks and head for a hidden opening in the mangroves in northern end of the beach. Upon entering the mangroves, we follow a channel for a mile leading to Laguna Grande. Once we enter the laguna your guides gather group for an informative talk about: This unique ecosystem, the flora, fauna, and sea life that inhabits the lagoon, and historical notes. Our bay is very delicate as it depends on the ecosystem surrounding it. Due to climate changes and other factors the bioluminescent bay can reduce its fluorescent lights. This means that it will not always glow at a 100%. This all depends on natural or human causes that can affect the organisms. Our company is not responsible for these changes as we do our best to provide a unique experience for all who visit the island.
