Charles Dickens walking tour
Overview
This walking tour will take us to places that both inspired famous author Charles Dickens and real locations that shaped the man himself. All writers take inspiration from people they meet and places they visit, and Charles Dickens was no different. His novels are so successful because he so enjoyed wandering the streets of London and picking up the rich details of everyday life.
On this tour, you'll visit a variety of places in London such as St George the Martyr, Marshalsea Street, Tabard Street and Long Lane. You'll then make your way to the Marshalsea Prison, visit the stupendous London Bridge, Winchester Palace and Borough Market.
The itinerary also includes passing by Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, moving on to visit Temple Church, Dr. Johnson's House, The Old Curiosity Shop, Lincoln's Inn Fields, 190 High Holborn, Bloomsbury, until finally arriving at the Charles Dickens Museum.
