Accessible mainly by water taxi or boat from Boca de Tomatlan (or a coastal hike), it's dotted with palapa-roofed restaurants serving fresh seafood, lively beach clubs, and you will have the opportunity to enjoy swimming or snorkeling.

Yelapa WaterfallsThe panga (water taxi) trip from Playa Las Animas to Yelapa Pier is a short, scenic coastal ride on small open boats, typically lasting 15-20 minutes. Upon arrival at the pier, the hike to the waterfall is an easy 10-20 minute uphill stroll through the quaint village, crossing a river (which may require wading in the rainy season) to reach a picturesque cascade with a refreshing swimming hole.
