Overview

My name is Mario. I am Professor of History and Geography and decided to offer something new from Split. Only on this tour you can see Omiš, small pitoresque village and its proper to say "Croatia in small". Omiš is place where river meets the sea between two mountains, with 2 historical pirate fotresses, gastronomy under UNESCO and other nearby small pitoresque villages. This is perfect tour for families who want to skip Split crowds, but Omiš also offers many things for those who want more adrenaline like rafting, zipline, kayaking etc. This tour is combination of guided tour (city, fortress and boat ride) and free time at beach (or adrenaline time) with additional option of organized traditional dalmatian lunch.

  • Omis
Omiš is a picturesque town with real Mediterranean atmosphere on the estuary of the river Cetina. It is considered to be "Croatia in small". Pearl of Adriatic sea between two mountains, where the river meets the sea. Stone and sand beaches. Two pirate fortresses, with great gastronomy in hinterlands under protection of UNESCO. Amazing place to be.
  • The Parish church of St. Michael
The parish church of St. Michael in Omiš was built on the site of a Gothic church in the early 17th century.
  • Fortress Mirabella (Peovica)
Mirabela Fortress, also known as Peovica, is located above the Omiš Old Town itself at an altitude of over 200 meters. It was built in the 13th century and served as an observation post for enemies, most often the Venetians. From there, Omiš pirates could see enemy galleys, which would cause the city to be on alert even before these ships approached Omiš.
  • Omis Cetina Canyon
The greatest opportunities for an active holiday are to be found precisely amidst the unspoiled nature of the Cetina canyon, which has held the status of protected significant landscape for the last 60 years. The Cetina River has something to offer to all. Zipline, kayaking, rafting, sightseeing river boat tours or simply enjoying the specialties of Dalmatian cuisine amidst one of the most beautiful river canyons in Croatia. At the end of river tour we gonna stop at popular excursion and picnic place of Radman Mills (17th century) – another well-hidden jewel amidst the pristine nature of the Cetina canyon. Due to the unique scenery, Mills were chosen as location for the filming of the famous Winnetou movie series in the period from 1962 to 1969. The Cetina River has for centuries been a steady and important source of water, around which numerous picturesque villages with a long tradition of farming have formed. Today, these villages represent a unique blend of old and new Dalmatia.
  • Radmanove Mlinice
Over the centuries, the river Cetina cut a magnificent canyon on its way to the sea. With its thunderous roar, it brought the power that drove mill wheels for centuries and then found its calm in contact with the sea. In this combination of rapids and calm flow, mills were already mentioned in the 17th and 18th centuries, which flourished in the middle of the 19th century when they were renovated by the Radman family, after whom they are still named. Today, Radman’s mills are arranged as a restaurant excursion where, in the freshness of the canopy of tall trees, the tranquility of the stone mill carts and the sundial, the lazy trout in the pool, you can feel the country spirit of the past. Here we gonna take 2 hours lunch break (lunch not included).
  • Municipal beach
There is a reason why the two or three weeks you are going to spend on the Adriatic are called holidays Swimming and sunbathing are still the favourite summer vacation activities for most tourists. Luckily, Omiš offers almost endless possibilities in this aspect as well. From big sandy beaches to small, secluded pebble coves, from long shallows ideal for kids to the deep big blue opening up before you just meters from the shore – Omiš truly has it all. Those who prefer sandy beaches offering all kinds of activities and entertainment will definitely choose to visit the central town beach known among locals as the Big Beach (Velika plaža), where you can enjoy the sun and the sea on summer days.
