Platamonas CastleNext stop on our half-day mini bus tour of Olympus is a visit to the Crusader Castle of Platamon. Found on a strategic hilltop, Platamon Castle was built to guard the valley of Tempe and the roads that connected Macedonia to the rest of the country. Dating back to the 13th century, this imposing medieval castle is one of the largest fortresses in Greece that’s still standing to this day.
