This mochi-making class in Tokyo emphasizes both the cultural significance of mochi and practical techniques for working with sticky dough. Under the guidance of a certified instructor, participants will learn essential skills to recreate these sweets at home.

The class will conclude with tasting the sweets with a bowl of matcha green tea which you will learn how to make. There will be a short talk about the Japanese Omotenashi (hospitality spirit) that is the essence of Chado (Tea Ceremony)
All ingredients are plant-derived and gluten-free. The instructor who is a certified Nerikiri Art Instructor is very fluent in English so she will be able to give you some insights on the local life as well as advice on where to shop or go sightseeing in Tokyo. Aprons will be provided and an English Recipe Sheet will be given to take home.
