Linđo Folk Ensemble August performance at the Revelin Fortress
Overview
The Linđo Folk Ensemble, established in 1965, is a cultural cornerstone of Dubrovnik. Named after a beloved traditional dance from the Dubrovnik coastal area, Župa, and Konavle, the ensemble plays a vital role in preserving Croatia's intangible cultural heritage.
The Linđo dance, along with other cultural treasures like the Feast of St. Blaise and the Dubrovnik dialect, is recognised on Croatia's list of protected intangible cultural heritage. Since 1967, the ensemble has been an essential part of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, offering lively performances that showcase Croatia's cultural identity.
Through their local and international shows, Linđo continues to promote Dubrovnik and Croatia's cultural legacy. Their traditional festival performances, featuring music, dance, and vibrant costumes, offer an engaging experience for both local and international audiences, helping to keep these important traditions alive.
