The Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station is accessible almost year-round, snow conditions permitting, and is a popular sightseeing spot even outside of the climbing season. The station is reached by the Fuji Subaru Line, a scenic toll road up Mount Fuji's lower northern slopes, that begins in Fujikawaguchiko Town. It may temporarily get partially closed in winter in times of heavy snow. Furthermore, the road is closed to private vehicles during the majority of the climbing season (July 14 to September 10, 2023). At 2300 meters above sea level, the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station offers a commanding view of the Fuji Five Lakes area below, making it a popular spot even for those who are not intent on climbing the mountain. An observation point with unobstructed views of Fujiyoshida City and Lake Yamanaka can be found at Komitake Shrine behind the shops.
  • It looks like you might be referring to Oshino Hakkai (忍野八海), a famous group of eight natural spring ponds in Oshino, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. These ponds are fed by snowmelt from Mount Fuji, which filters through volcanic rock, creating incredibly clear water. Oshino Hakkai is a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful scenery, traditional Japanese atmosphere, and the reflection of Mount Fuji in the ponds on clear days. The area also features thatched-roof houses, small shops selling local delicacies, and fresh water you can drink directly from the springs.

It is renowned for its stunning views of Mount Fuji and is a popular destination for tourists, offering boat cruises, hot springs, and picturesque walking trails arround its shores. The lake was formed in the caldera of Mount Hakone after a volcanic eruption nearly 3000 years ago. Togendai is a popular spot in Japan, Located near Mount Fuji. • Hakone Moto Tsumiya Shrine
Moto Hakone Shrine (元箱根神社, *Moto-Hakone Jinja*) is a Shinto shrine located on the shores of Lake Ashi in Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It's a serene and picturesque destination, famous for its torii gate that stands in the water, known as the "Torii of Peace." The shrine itself is nestled in a forested area, with Mount Hakone and the surrounding nature providing a beautiful backdrop. Visitors often come to Moto Hakone Shrine to pray for good fortune, especially in matters of travel and business, as the shrine is associated with protection and prosperity. The setting offers beautiful views of Lake Ashi and, on clear days, Mount Fuji. Moto Hakone Shrine is easily accessible by boat or by walking from the nearby Hakone-machi or Moto-Hakone towns. It is also part of the wider Hakone area, a popular destination known for its hot springs (onsen), art museums, and scenic nature trails.
  • Owaku-dani Valley
Owakudani (大涌谷, Ōwakudani) is the area around a crater created during the last eruption of Mount Hakone some 3000 years ago. Today, much of the area is an active volcanic zone where sulfurous fumes, hot springs, and hot rivers can be experienced. Additionally, Owakudani has good views of Mount Fuji on clear days. Eggs cooked in Owakudani's hot spring pools with their shells blackened by the sulfur are on sale at shops in the area, and eating one is said to prolong one's life by seven years.
  • Gotemba Premium Outlets
The Gotemba Premium Outlets are Japan's most popular outlet mall, located in Gotemba City at the base of Mount Fuji, not far from Hakone. The mall features around 300 stores and restaurants, a food court, a 50-meter-high Ferris wheel, a hotel, and a public hot spring bath. The stores found at the Premium Outlets are the outlets of internationally known brands of fashion, sports, food, household goods, and electronics, and range from everyday items to luxury goods. The prices are not ridiculously cheap, but they are better on average than what you will find at regular retail shops in Japan. Overall it is a nice place for a day of shopping, with a lot of variety and reasonable prices.
