Hiroshima Peace Memorial ParkHiroshima Peace Memorial Museum Main attraction of the park, opened in 1955. Displays artifacts, survivor accounts (hibakusha), photos, and exhibits documenting the horrors of the atomic bombing. Aims to educate visitors on the consequences of nuclear war and the importance of peace. 2. Atomic Bomb Dome (Genbaku Dome) The skeletal remains of the former Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall. One of the few buildings left standing after the bomb; preserved in the same state as immediately after the explosion. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. 3. Cenotaph for the A-bomb Victims Concrete saddle-shaped monument inscribed with the words: “Let all the souls here rest in peace, for we shall not repeat the evil.” Lists the names of all known victims of the bomb, including non-Japanese victims (Koreans, Chinese, ). 4. MiyajimaCruise ride for miyajima island ⛩️ Itsukushima Shrine A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famous for its "floating" torii gate, which appears to float on water during high tide. The shrine dates back to the 6th century, with the current design established in the 12th century. Built over water to honor the sacred nature of the island itself. Friendly Deer Like Nara, Miyajima has free-roaming deer that are considered messengers of the gods. They are tame and often interact with visitors. ️ Mount Misen The island’s highest peak (535 meters). Offers panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea. You can hike or take a ropeway (cable car) to the top. The mountain features Buddhist sites and scenic nature trails.
