Along the Itachi River, scattered along its banks, are Jizo statues dating back 250 years, erected in prayers for the recovery from the epidemic caused by a major earthquake. Some of these statues are accompanied by wells springing with water from the melting snow of the Tateyama Mountain Range. The riverside is a promenade, meticulously maintained by local residents. Within walking distance from the city center, it's a spot where you can stroll in a kimono, experiencing both the natural beauty and the rhythm of everyday life. If you're lucky, you might even get to take a walk with our mascot dog, Shiba Inu!
