The Dalí Triangle and Cadaqués day-trip from Girona
Overview
Salvador Dalí is, no doubt, one of the most famous artists in Cataluña. Born in Figueres in 1904, he is one of the most important exponents of surrealism worldwide. You'll visit the 4 museums on the famous painter: the Dalí Museum, the Gala-Dalí Castle, the Jewels Museum and the House-Museum. Sacrebleu!
You will start with the special Gala-Dalí Castle, the least visited museum of the four located in the small town of Púbol, in the Baix Empordà. Bought and restored by Dalí, did you know that Gala accepted it as a gift on the condition that Salvador would come to visit only if she invited him in writing?
Afterward, you will go to the star of the crown: the Dalí Theatre-Museum. One of the most important museums in the country and, without a doubt, the most important in Girona, it was built in an old theater in the painter’s hometown: Figueres. You will also have time to enter the Jewels Museum and see the ones that Dalí designed.
You will then continue towards Cadaqués, where you will have time for lunch, walk around the village and enjoy some time by the sea before heading to Portlligat to visit the Dalí House-Museum. This you will have concluded the painter’s triangle!
