The Grand PalaceLocated at the heart of Bangkok, Thailand, the Grand Palace was a former residence for King Rama I to King Rama V of the Rattanakosin Kingdom. Today, the place is used for hosting royal ceremonies and welcoming the king's guests, State guests, and other foreign dignitaries. It is also a place where remains of kings and high-ranked members of the royal family were situated before cremation. The grand palace is divided into two main zones, which are the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the royal residence.
-
Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew)Wat Phra Kaew (known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha or locally as Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram) is one of the most important Buddhist temples in Thailand. Located in the historical center of Bangkok and within the grounds of the Grand Palace, the temple enshrines Phra Kaew Morakot (the Emerald Buddha), the highly revered Buddha image meticulously carved from a single block of jade.
-
Wat Phra ChetuphonWat Pho (the Temple of the Reclining Buddha), or Wat Phra Chetuphon, is right behind the Temple of the Emerald Buddha – it’s a must-see for any first-time visitor to Bangkok. As one of the largest temple complexes in the city, it’s famed for its giant reclining Buddha that is 46 metres long, covered in gold leaf. This an A World Heritage Site

Wat Rakhang, the Temple of the Bells, was built by Rama 1 towards the end of the 18th century. During the construction a bell was found here, and the next King Rama II moved that bell to Wat Phra Kaew, which is more or less opposite Wat Rakhang on the other side of the river, and gave 5 new bells to the Temple. All around the theme of bells is prominent in this Temple.
-
Temple Of Dawn (Wat Arun)Wat Arun, locally known as Wat Chaeng, is a landmark temple on the west (Thonburi) bank of the Chao Phraya river. It’s easily one of the most stunning temples in Bangkok, not only because of its riverside location but also because the design is very different from the other temples you can visit in the Thai capital. Wat Arun (nicknamed the 'Temple of Dawn') is partly made up of colourfully decorated spires and stands majestically over the water.
