The Buddha statue was built in1252In 2000, the Buddha's flatter face, lower bun and forward leaning posture were in the style of the Song Dynasty Buddha statues popular in the Kamakura period. It was a representative statue of the Kamakura period and was designated as a national treasure of Japan. Unlike the Great Buddha of Nara Todaiji Temple, which has undergone many repairs in later generations, the Great Buddha of Kamakura has basically maintained its original form, so it is very precious.

Gokurakudo Enoden TunnelEnoden is a streetcar that connects Fujisawa to Kamakura. The route covers most of Kamakura's famous attractions, and you can also enjoy the beautiful Shonan coast scenery.
