Experience the authentic Kumihimo Studio Museum, where offers tours and experiences.
DOMYO was founded in 1652 in the Edo period, while Inheriting the trend of classical research by samurai since the Edo period, it has been conducting research on historical kumihimo that has spread throughout the country since the Meiji period.
Through the restoration archive of cultural properties owned by DOMYO, you can trace the historical development of Japanese kumihimo, and you can see and experience the tools that is currently being used in the actual production of kumihimo along with demonstrations, and learn about the structural characteristics of kumihimo and the meaning of the design.
In addition, you can enjoy a comprehensive exhibition that conveys the charm of old and new Kumihimo, such as viewing collaborative works of Kumihimo with talents active in various fields such as contemporary fashion, art, and architecture.
You can make original bracelet or strap and take home products your own made as a souvenir.
