Charlotte AmalieCharlotte Amalie, the capital and largest city of the U.S. Virgin Islands, situated on St. Thomas was founded in 1666 as Taphus, it was renamed in 1691 after Danish queen Charlotte Amalie. The city boasts a deep-water harbor that was historically a pirate haven and is now a major cruise ship port, receiving over 1.5 million passengers annually. Historically, the area was inhabited by Caribs, Arawaks, Ciboney and Taíno native peoples before Columbus arrived in 1493. The city features Danish colonial architecture and landmarks such as St. Thomas Synagogue, Frederick Lutheran Church, Blackbeard's Castle, Bluebeards Castle and Fort Christian. A copy of the Liberty Bell and freed slave blowing a conch shell are in Emancipation Park, which is both a source of national pride and a tourist attraction.
-
Brewer's BayBrewers Bay - Brewers Bay is a gem hidden in plain sight. Its sun-drenched shore is presided over by lush green hills on the right, and the University of the Virgin Islands campus on the left. It’s one of the calmest beaches on St. Thomas and the water is clear as crystal. It is a favorite for Green Sea Turtles and Hawksbill Turtles. The seafloor is mostly sand, and it deepens gradually providing an easy sloped entry. The combination of clarity, calmness and a sandy bottom make it great for wading and swimming.

Enjoy paradise with a beautiful sandy shoreline and solitude. The view from the beach includes Inner Brass, a small island. There is good swimming and decent snorkeling at this local hideaway. Be sure to take a stroll along the beach. On the left side is a wild tangle of coconut palms that offer nice photo ops. There are trees leaning on one another, growing sideways, or even parallel to the ground. Look out for a swing in a coconut tree closest to the water. It is a great prop for a bit of fun. There are also Plantation Ruins tucked in the trees just off the beach. Remains include a factory, an animal mill, a stable, slave quarters, and a number of dry-stone walls. The ruins that are most visible from the dirt road seem a bit eerie tucked in the forest. They appear to be fiercely guarded by the trees and vines that have reclaimed the site. The plantation dates to the late 1700s–early 1800’s, a period in colonial history when the island belonged to Denmark.

Mountain TopFor more than 50 years World Famous Mountain Top has been the #1 tourist attraction in the Virgin Islands! With amazing views from their Observation Deck 1500 ft above Magens Bay, you can see more than 15 islands and Cays, including Magens Bay, St. John and the British Virgin Islands. One of the first attractions on the island, Mountain Top is best known for its world famous banana daiquiri and wide array of duty-free shopping. High atop St. Peter Mountain sits the Caribbean's largest Duty Free gift shop, bar and observation deck with sweeping views of the British Virgin islands.
-
Drake's SeatPositioned on the North side of St. Thomas, serves as a tourist destination, which offers a panoramic view of Magens Bay Beach. This location is easily identifiable by an open lookout area on one side of the road and a distinctive green bench that says, "The Drake Seat", on the other. According to local lore, it was constructed by Sir Frances Drake, an English privateer, who used this spot as a point to survey the horizon for approaching enemy ships.
-
Skyline DriveBack for one last chance at an amazing photo of the beautiful emerald waters and islands that surround St. Thomas before winding down the mountain to Charlotte Amalie! Skyline Drive Overlook offers a beautiful panoramic harbor view including Charlotte Amalie below, Hassel Island, Water Island, the Cruise ship docks and more! Normally a vendor or two is set up for one last opportunity at a souvenir!
-
Skyride to Paradise PointEven though we will drive up the mountain as opposed to the Skyride, It’s hard to overstate the beauty of the view at Paradise Point. On clear days you can see all the way to Puerto Rico and St. Croix. In addition to the wonderful view, on Cruise Ship days, there is a bar and restaurant open for lunch, Taste, where you can find their world famous Baileys® Bushwacker. They also have many local souvenir shops and their brand new Skywalk! After 5pm, there is Prime at Paradise Point open, one of the island's best steakhouses!
-
St. ThomasHidden Gem - This is a medium sized sandy beach offers a laid back atmosphere in a beautiful cove, with plenty of shade trees and lots of picnic tables to set up on and spend the day at. There are also several swings hidden around the area... try to find them all! You can walk down the beach towards the east where it narrows for better views of the island, Green Cay, right off the shore of the beach. This cay and the surrounding area makes for really great snorkeling. You can find all sorts of fish, starfish, turtles, and other sea life in the waters.
-
Red HookRedhook/Cabrita Point - Red Hook is the proverbial anchor of the East End of St. Thomas. The little hub packs in a lot! There is a marina, fishing and boating excursions, ferries, island-style shops, restaurants and bars, offices, banks and more! Take a stroll along the marina to admire the boats or to peek at what anglers have caught and brought to shore. One of the most uncommon and picturesque views of St. John! Cabrita Point is one of those areas that even if you’ve been to St. Thomas a dozen times, it’s quite likely you’ve never visited this spot! Just past Vessup beach (a local hideout) and the Ritz Carlton, the loop around Cabrita Point is home to beautiful Villas, who’s panoramic view makes you feel as if you were on the waterway between St. Thomas and St. John.
If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
