Meeting point
We meet in the forecourt of the Royal Exhibition Building (Nicholson St side). From the city, take the 86 or 96 tram up Bourke St to the Gertrude St/ Melbourne Museum stop.

The tour ends at Queen Victoria Market where you can easily take a free tram or walk back into the centre of the city

Its well-preserved streetscapes are full of stories that trace the historical events and cultural shifts that shaped Melbourne into the vibrant, multicultural city we know today. - Explore Carlton’s rich migrant history and its darker side. - Take a break for coffee and cake on Lygon St, making like part of the "Carlton Push."

University of Melbourne- Walk through the University of Melbourne, visiting the Old Quad and hidden gems, like the heritage-listed underground carpark from Mad Max and a secret garden most Melburnians don’t know about.

Queen Victoria MarketWe'll finish with a tram ride down Royal Parade to the Victoria Market for a quick orientation and lunch tips before we part ways. Participants will receive a PDF guide with their walk details, local food recommendations, and a list of books for those who love discovering cities through literature.
