Overview
This tour not only showcases the typical wildlife of the rainforest, but also from a unique place in the world: Lake Gatun, part of the Panama Canal. Gatun LakeThe tour to Monkey Island starts early in the morning, usually between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m., with direct pickup from your hotel in Panama City.

Monkey IslandWhen you arrive at the Marina de Gamboa, you will embark on a boat tour of Gatun Lake, one of the most important sections of the canal. During this walk, you will sail between small islands covered in rainforest until you reach the famous Monkey Island. Here, you will have the opportunity to observe several species of monkeys in their natural habitat, such as capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys and marmosets. Some even approach the boats in search of fruit, allowing close and unique moments with these curious forest dwellers.

Mercado de AbastosAccompanied by a local guide or agricultural expert, you’ll start a tour of the market’s aisles, where the air soaks in the sweet, fresh aroma of freshly harvested tropical fruits. Among piles of papayas, mangoes, bananas and passion fruits, the protagonist of the day will be Panamanian pineapple, internationally recognized for its intensely sweet flavor, juicy texture and floral aroma. The most anticipated part comes with the tasting: fresh slices of pineapple served directly by producers or sellers, at room temperature or slightly cold, which highlight the quality of the national fruit.
