Meryem Ana KilisesiLocated in Nevşehir the Virgin Mary Church (Meryem Ana Kilisesi) was originally built in 1849 by the region’s Orthodox Greek community and served as a place of worship until the population exchange period. Between 1950 and 1983, the building was repurposed as a prison. Following extensive restoration it has been reopened to visitors and now stands as a significant cultural and historical landmark offering a glimpse into Cappadocia’s rich and diverse heritage.
