Our Golden Gower tour begins in the city of Swansea with discovering more about Wales’ most famous poet, at the Dylan Thomas Centre. We then visit the quaint village of Mumbles, with its lighthouse, and Lovespoon Gallery. Take in the breathtaking scenery of the Gower coast, with an optional coastal walk from Langland Bay to Caswell Bay, as we head towards the magnificent Rhossili Bay and Worm’s Head.

Dylan Thomas CentreThe Dylan Thomas Centre is dedicated to Wales’ most famous poet and is home to the permanent exhibition, ‘Love the Words’. Here you can learn more about the life and works of this famous Welshman, who after Shakespeare is the most quoted writer in the English language. You can also hear some of the world’s most famous voices (including King Charles) reading lines from Dylan Thomas’ works.

MumblesThe quaint village of Mumbles (also known as Oystermouth) is known as the ‘Gateway to the Gower’ and marks the beginning of the Gower Peninsula’s coastline. It is steeped in history and tradition. Mumbles is famous as the place where the world’s first passenger railway journey took place in 1807, as well as traditional Welsh gifts at the Lovespoon Gallery.

Langland BayEver popular, the coastal walk from Langland Bay to the glorious sandy beach of Caswell Bay is a real ‘must see’. With stunning views of amazing coastal scenery, this path offers the chance to spot wildlife such as rare birds, grey seals, lizards and even adders or a basking shark. The rock formations in the cliffs here are designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Rhossili BayRhossili Bay has been voted Wales’ Best Beach 2022 and encompasses one of the Gower’s most famous landmarks, Worm’s Head. This one of the most beautiful places in the UK and the views are beyond compare.
