Fuerteventura should be translated in one word: beaches. The spectacular nature of Sotavento can be summed up simply: it is the most famous beach in the world. Beautiful beach surrounded by dunes with turquoise water. Its length alone, some nine kilometers, leaves visitors speechless. World famous for the annual kite and windsurfing championships … At low tide, the island gains so much ground that some even doubt whether it is the largest Canary Island. The constant sunshine, the enormous pools that form there and the endless golden sand make it deserve another synonym: !PARADISE!
  • Betancuria Old Town
Free Time to enjoy... Just stroll around and enjoy the old village. You can visit the Santa Maria Cathedral (ticket 2€), if open, take a coffee break if you wish… Or go shopping! Free time for everyone!
  • Playa Ajuy
Caves walk !! Yea, A Walk to the spectacular Ajuy caves, which are the oldest formations in the Canary Islands. They belong to the basal complex of Fuerteventura, created by the submarine flow of lava and sediment that rose to the surface and began to form the island 100 million years ago in the Cretaceous period. The rocks emerged from a depth of 3,000 metres and started to form the base that these days supports this island and that of Lanzarote. The caves are extremely important from a geological and paleontological perspective and are among the 150 sites of primary geological interest in the world. Visiting them means travelling back in time to the very origins of Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands themselves. Did you knew? • It was the place where Jean de Béthencourt, the conqueror of the Canary Islands, landed in the 15th century. If the weather conditions permit, we will also visit the caves on the west sea coast.
  • Mirador de las Penitas
The ravine of las Penitas. An exceptional enclave! AN other great Panoramic View on this daytrip. From the Las Peñitas viewpoint, in Betancuria, you will see an evocative view: a green oasis in the middle of the desert. The underground river that flows under the Las Peñitas ravine is created by human hands (in 1937) and forms a small lake dotted with native plants. The open esplanade of the viewpoint is the perfect place for taking quality photos. Home of the local inhabitants, the chipmunks.
  • The place where the movie Wonder Woman 1984 was made... Many films have been made here! Come along and be part of the scenic sand view of the amazing 10 kilometers of white coral beaches. If the weather conditions permit, we will also have an extra photo stop on the east natural corral dunes & popcorn beaches . If time we stop. (pass by)

  • Mirador Guise y Ayose
A other stunning stop and panorama view in the mountains (669 meter high), but also the 2 statues of the gauchens appeal to the imagination!
  • Vega de Rio Palmas

  • Driving to the SOUTH Jandia we have the Sicasumbre Viewpoint, located about 300 meters above sea level, is one of the best sky-gazing spots on the island. The beauty of the area is perfectly combined with the facilities offered at the viewpoint, from information via signage to mounts so those who wish can comfortably use their cameras and telescopes. Pierre says: A panoramic & stunning viewpoint on clear cloudy free days. We will stop there if the weather conditions are favorable! (pass by)
  • The most striking monument in the village is the Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Caridad, a small temple that has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. The volcano Tindaya has been declared a Natural Monument due to the scientific importance of its geomorphological structure, as well as a point of cultural interest due to its archaeological values, especially due to the abundance of podomorphic petroglyphs and the sacred character given by the majos, first pre-Hispanic settlers of the island. It also has the presence of some rare endemisms such as Caralluma burchardii, fleshy plants with the appearance of cacti. 3 km south of the city, at the foot of Mount Quemada, stands the monument in honor of Miguel de Unamuno. (pass by)
  • Located on the west coast of Fuerteventura, next to the Jandía peninsula, La Pared black beach “Viejo rey” is a beach about 250 meters long made up of rocks that has a wild character. Shaped by the passage of time, wind and water, it is a virgin beach. From there we can see the famous Cofete beach! (pass by)
  • An area of great landscape value The protected landscape of Vallebrón is located between the towns of La Oliva and Puerto del Rosario, in the north of the island of Fuerteventura. It is a geomorphological entity that is representative of the island and of great landscape value. It covers an area of almost 1,680 hectares, which represents 3.5% of the protected area of the island. Vallebrón forms a landscape characterised by an elongated ridge with a knife-shaped relief, flanked by two large U-shaped ravines, Valle Largo and Valle Chico. The southernmost point of the ridge coincides with the Montaña de la Muda, a place of historical interest due to an archaeological site. To the southwest lies the town of Tindaya, which is bordered by the Montaña Quemada to the south and the Montaña de Tindaya to the north. We will stop there if the weather conditions are favorable! (pass by)
  • In addition to beaches, landscapes and gastronomy, there is much more to discover in Fuerteventura. The most extensive island in the archipelago has countless places with their own character, such as this picturesque village of TUINEJE with a rich history. Also known for its tomato cultivation and of course the series film Doctor Who. Also very famous for the fact that every month the camel market was held here and the heaviest battle in the history of Majorero. The battle against the English in the 19th century. Your guide tells you all about it! (pass by)
  • Lajares at the foot of the volcanoes Calderon Honda, Arena, and Blanca. Lajares, as a surfing center, is the starting point for one of Fuerteventura's most spectacular hikes: the volcano hike. Besides the volcanoes, Lajares is also known for its art market held every Saturday. The market is particularly famous for its embroidery. The guide will tell you all about it! (pass by)
  • Tiscamanita is a small farming village of about 500 inhabitants, in the south of the island of Fuerteventura. To the east of the village lies the Caldera de Gairía volcano, one of the last volcanic structures on the island of Fuerteventura; it is a Strombolian volcano with a height of 461 metres. This recent volcanic activity has created an arid area with a very special biological environment. Volcanic ash from the volcano has been exploited for a long time, including through the "agricultural technical cultivo enarenado" ("silted cultivation"), in which the fields are covered with pozzolana to protect the soil from the evaporation of water by the strong winds in the region. Pozzolana has left deep fissures in the flanks of the volcano, but the Caldera de Gairía is now protected as a natural monument. Your local guide will give you more history facts on tour. (pass by)
  • Las Casitas is a settlement five kilometers from the village of Tuineje, which we will also visit. In recent years it has been inhabited by about thirty families. Most of the population is dedicated to goats and agriculture. But there is more! The group of dilapidated Majorero houses in the area (village La Florida), which has recently been a popular film location (Clint Eastwood), has become a popular destination for western films. The guide will tell you the nice story with great pleasure. (pass by)
  • The agricultural prison colony of Tefía was a concentration camp during the Franco dictatorship, located in the village of Tefía, belonging to the municipality of Puerto del Rosario. It was active between 1954 and 1966 and served for the incarceration of ordinary and political prisoners, and for the re-education of male homosexuals. Also the place where the first airport (1930) was and the first tourists arrived. (pass by)
