Grizzly Bear Expedition
Overview
Setting off from Campbell River Marine Adventure Centre, the journey includes a scenic boat trip into Bute Inlet followed by a land-based experience in Orford Bay. Indigenous guides from the Homalco First Nations lead this adventure.
- 🛥️ Travel on comfortable, heated, covered vessels for a 2-hour boat trip.
- 🐻 Encounter grizzly bears, elk, bald eagles, and more at raised wildlife viewing platforms between August and October.
- 🌊 During the boat trip, observe killer whales, humpback whales, dolphins, porpoises, black bears, seals, and sea lions in their natural habitat.
- 🍽️ Lunch is served in Orford Bay with views of the estuary and surrounding mountains.

Desolation Sound Marine Provincial ParkAfter a scenic boat ride we'll arrive at the Orford River in Bute Inlet where you will be met by members of the Homalco First Nations. You will have an opportunity to view Grizzly Bears as they descend on the river to feast on salmon.
If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
