Guided walking tour to Toledo essentials and legends
Overview
This visit offers a tour of the monumental City of Toledo, a World Heritage Site since 1986. Through its narrow streets, monuments and historic squares, the heart of the city is discovered little by little, and it is understood why so many artists and illustrious people have chosen to live and be inspired by it.
Visiting the Church of Santo Tomé, you can admire one of the masterpieces of the famous painter El Greco, "The Burial of the Lord of Orgaz", considered one of the best paintings of Spanish painting. Inside the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, beauty and architecture come together, as well as being able to breathe the atmosphere of tolerance that reigned during the period of coexistence of the three cultures Christian, Islamic and Jewish. You will also visit the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, a unique building of Spanish-Flemish Gothic architecture, that will show you the connection to the life and politics of the Catholic kings, Isabel and Fernando.
For the lunch break, you can choose between an included lunch in a typical Toledo's restaurant, or spend some time to discover the city on your own.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk through one of the most beautiful and unknown areas of the city: the convent area. These streets, and squares full of history have inspired poets and artists, such as Bécquer, whose most important legends are located in Toledo.
