Today, you will go on a heritage tour of the Nizam’s Museum. Situated within walking distance of Charminar, the museum is well stocked with artefacts that seem to narrate tales of the Nizams from the period after 1687, post the era of the Golconda kings. Largely, the museum showcases souvenirs, mementoes and gifts presented to the last Nizam by different dignitaries. Most of these gifts were given to the Nizam during his silver jubilee celebrations in 1936. Some of the interesting highlights are a golden throne, a Rolls Royce car from 1930, other vintage cars, and a diamond studded gold tiffin box. These exhibits clearly show that the Nizams were really larger than life.
