Jal Sanjhi art painting on water
Overview
Jal Sanjhi is an art that started in the era of Lord Krishna which his descendants continued. Variations of the art then appeared in Gokul and Mathura during Krishna era and was mainly created in pushtimag temples. Sanjhi mainly draws on water and shows of different kinds of lilaye (depiction of the acts) of Lord Krishna in sanjhi. This art is older than 500 years ago was beginning to extinct but with the committed dedication of Vaishnav generations this art is live for the last 250 years. Every day, the different Krishna lilaye is displayed by jal shanjhi.
