Fushimi Inari-taisha ShrineThe spectacular tunnel of thousands of vermilion torii gates is so famous and picturesque. These torii gates were offered by worshippers in appreciation of the good fortune they received from the deity enshrined here. Why don’t you, too, offer a prayer and change your luck?

YasakanotoThis pagoda was originally built in 592 and rebuilt in 1440. From here, you can enjoy the landscape that represents Kyoto, and in the evening, it is crowded with photographers who enjoy taking nice pictures of this pagoda with the sunset. There is a shopping street in traditional Kyoto style nearby called Ninenzaka, and Starbucks is infiltrated in it. If you go up a little bit to the Kodaiji parking lot, you can get a panoramic view of almost whole Kyoto city.

Yasaka ShrineYasaka Shrine was once called Gion Shrine, and the current name of Gion was taken from this shrine. The main deity enshrined here is very powerful. Furthermore a god of beauty is also enshrined, which attracts a strong following of geisha girls.

GionGeisha are an important part of traditional culture. Let’s stroll around Gion district where beautiful, old-style houses are preserved. If you are lucky enough, you may encounter Geisha or Maiko (apprentices) dressed in gorgeous kimono and wearing high wooden clogs that make a peculiar sound on the street.
