Overview
Start your experience at 9am with the pick-up service from your hotel, airport, or station at Fukuoka.
At 12.10pm you will have your one-hour lunch in one of the designed places. At 1.30pm arrive in Oshikata, Takachiho, at the gorge, where you will stay two hours. The bus cannot reach the canoe platform in Takachiho because the road is narrow. Enjoy a walk in nature for about 15 minutes from the bus parking lot to the canoe landing.
Have fun during your canoeing experience in one of the most amazing places in Japan. After that you will reach Takachiho Shrine (高千穂神社, Takachiho Jinja), located just west of the town center, nestled in a grove of tall cedars. Takachiho is the site of one of the best known legends of Japanese mythology.
At 6.50PM you will start your journey to come back to your hotel in Kumamoto or Fukuoka, where you will arrive at around 9.30pm.
