    Nara Park is famous for the 1,200 or so wild deer that live freely within the park. Within Nara Park you will find the Todai-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Originated from Kinshozan-ji Temple, which was built in 728 (the 5th year of the Jinki era) to mourn the death of Emperor Shomu's crown prince, Imperial Prince Motoi. Although the present reconstruction of 1692 is only two-thirds of the original temple hall's size, Daibutsuden (Big Buddha Hall), Todaiji's main hall, is one of the biggest wooden structures in the world. The 15 meters tall, seated Buddha represents Vairocana and is flanked by two Bodhisattvas, is residing in this temple.   • Todai-ji Temple
    Tōdai-ji is a Buddhist temple located in Nara, Japan. It was founded in the early 8th century during the Nara period and is one of Japan's most famous and historically significant temples. The temple's main hall, known as the Daibutsuden, is one of the largest wooden buildings in the world, and houses a giant bronze statue of the Buddha known as the Daibutsu or Great Buddha. The statue is over 15 meters tall and weighs around 500 tons, making it one of the largest bronze statues in the world. Tōdai-ji also features a number of other important structures, including the Hokke-do Hall, which houses important Buddhist scriptures, and the Nigatsu-do Hall, which is known for its beautiful views of Nara city. The temple is surrounded by a large park, which is home to many wild sika deer, which are considered sacred in Japanese culture. Visitors can feed and interact with the deer in the park.
