The tour continues outside the city wall, which surrounds Old Tbilisi.

    The name of the city-Tbilisi is based on the legend of the king Vakhtang Gorgasali IV century. The word “tbili” means “warm”. Today, the king’s sculpture looks from the Metekhi plateau to the famous sulfur baths, in the heart of Old Tbilisi.

    Rustaveli Avenue with its famous Drama Theater named after Rustaveli, the State Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet named after Zakaria Paliashvili, 1st gymnasium, art salons. The new part of the city includes areas that were built up after the XX century.

    Abanotubani is an important historic part of the city: it is where according to a legend the King of Iberia, Vakhtang Gorgasali’s falcon fell, leading to a discovery of the hot springs and, subsequently, to founding of a new capital.
  • The Great Synagogue of Tbilisi
    The building, also known as the Georgian Synagogue, was built from 1895 to 1903 in an eclectic style by Georgian Jews from Akhaltsikhe who migrated to Tbilisi in the late 19th century, thus the synagogue is also called the “synagogue of the people of Akhaltsikhe”.
  • Metekhi Cathedral
    King Vakhtang I Gorgasali erected here a church and a fort which served also as a king’s residence; hence comes the name Metekhi which dates back to the 12th century and literally means “the area around the palace”.

    This bridge was constructed in 2009-2010 years. It is designed by Italian architector Micele De Luci and Lightening system is by French Philip Martino.

    Sioni was built in the 6th and 7th centuries. Since then, it has been destroyed by foreign invaders and reconstructed several times. The current church is based on a 13th-century version with some changes from the 17th to 19th centuries. The Sioni Cathedral was the main Georgian Orthodox Cathedral and the seat of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia until the Holy Trinity Cathedral was consecrated.

    Place where waterfall is located is called ''Leghvtakhevi'' waterfall is 22 meters tall. The name Leghvtakhevi comes from Georgian word "Leghvi" which means fig. There were so many trees of fig around this place from that comes the name.
