Molly Malone StatueThe Molly Malone statue was unveiled in 1988 to celebrate Dublin city’s first millennium. This popular character inspired the famous song “Molly Malone” which has become the unofficial Dublin’s anthem. We don’t know if she ever existed one theory suggested that Molly Malone was based on a real woman who died in Dublin in 1699.
