The tour starts by picking you up and driven to the amazing Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum – this museum showcases the astounding personal collection of a man, who collected some of the most incredible artefacts in India. There are as many as 36 sections, crammed full of antiques. Especially famous is the Mastani Mahal, while other interesting exhibits include carved palace doors, miniatures and a lot more. The museum is dedicated to the memory of his son, ‘Raja’, who passed away at the tender age of seven. The museum is not just about a costly or exotic collection, as even mundane things like combs, hookahs, kitchen utensils and a lot of other items are exhibited here. Nevertheless, every single exhibit seems to have a living soul of its own.
