  • Oshino Hakkai
Oshino Hakkai is a group of eight natural spring water ponds located in the village of Oshino in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. The ponds are fed by snowmelt from nearby Mount Fuji and are considered to be one of Japan's most picturesque natural landscapes. The ponds are named after the eight-headed dragon of Japanese mythology, and each pond has its own unique characteristics and color. Visitors can see the crystal-clear water, which is famous for its purity and clarity, and even drink it directly from the ponds. In addition to the ponds, Oshino Hakkai is also home to a traditional village with thatched-roof houses, where visitors can experience the daily life and culture of rural Japan. There are also several restaurants and souvenir shops in the village.
