The meeting and pick-up point for this tour is Plaza Regocijo, located in the historic center of Cusco.

Pick-up at 4:30 a.m. from hotels/hostels in Cusco. We drive 1.5 hrs to Cusipata (3,332 m) for a hearty breakfast, then continue 1 hr to Phulawasipata (4,633 m), the trailhead. Begin a 1.5-hr hike (3.5 km) with views of Wiñayritty snow peak, high Andean landscapes and Puca Cocha lagoon. Upon reaching Rainbow Mountain – Vinicunca (5,070 m), the guide explains its history and geology. Enjoy free time for photos. Optional: hike 20 min more to the Red Valley viewpoint (extra fee). Return by the same trail to Phulawasipata, drive back to Cusipata for a buffet lunch, then continue to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 p.m.
