Caffe TommaseoIn this elegant 19th-century café we'll explore Trieste’s bourgeois past and the café as a social salon. Here, you will taste a different style of coffee preparation while learning how cafés reflected status, habits, and daily life.
- We'll cross this stunning waterfront square, now one of the most famous symbols of the city. (pass by)

This stop and tasting will allow you to take in the atmosphere of Trieste’s most iconic setting and understand the café as a place to see and be seen.
- Walk to the old town, Cavana, through its charming square and narrow streets. (pass by)

We’ll wrap up the tour in the historic center, where we’ll take you to the area’s first and last coffee roastery. At this family-run café, you’ll learn how to savor a true Trieste “nero” and discover the coffee roasting process.
