- Ushuaia is a city in Argentina, located in the Ushuaia department and serving as the capital of the province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica, and South Atlantic Islands. It was founded on October 12, 1884, by Augusto Lasserre as Fort Ushuaia, established on the site of the former mission of Thomas Bridges. (pass by)
-
Canal BeagleWe will arrive at the area where our boat is located and then sail for approximately 20 minutes in a semi-rigid boat to the island, where we will walk alongside Magellanic and Gentoo penguins for 1 hour with a specialized guide who will provide us with information about the lives of these fantastic animals.
- On the shores of the Beagle Channel and surrounded by the Martial mountain range, Ushuaia offers a unique landscape in Argentina, combining mountains, sea, glaciers, and forests. To fully enjoy your stay in Ushuaia, we recommend always having at least one waterproof coat and comfortable footwear to move around safely and comfortably on the city’s characteristic sloping streets. (pass by)
-
Martillo IslandOn the island, we will walk for one hour among Magellanic and Gentoo penguins, always accompanied by a specialized guide who will help us learn all about these wonderful creatures in detail. This is the most important penguin colony in Tierra del Fuego. It is the only penguin colony in the Ushuaia area and attracts two main species: Magellanic penguins and Gentoo penguins.
- We will navigate on our boat through the Beagle Channel, where you’ll have the opportunity to take some of the most iconic photographs of Ushuaia — you’ll be at the “End of the World” lighthouse. It is a favorite postcard image for many and an unforgettable memory for those who sail the waters of the Beagle Channel. (pass by)
-
Isla de Los PajarosBird Island: This is an iconic location in the Beagle Channel, known for its wide variety of bird species and natural beauty. Colonies of Royal and Imperial Cormorants can be found here year-round. During the summer, you can observe them nesting. Additionally, you will find among them Kelp Gulls, Grey Gulls, Antarctic Doves, Steamer Ducks, and South American Terns. Sea Lion Island: Another of the most important islands in the Beagle Channel, where you can observe sea lion colonies up close. Both South American sea lions (one-maned) and South American fur seals (two-maned) inhabit these shores.
Penguins are very sensitive to human contact, so they can only be visited by a few people per day.
There is only one penguin colony in Ushuaia.
This tour is the most exclusive and sought-after in South America; therefore, we ask for your patience regarding visit confirmations.
If your itinerary states a departure at 10:30 AM, the return time will be between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM.
