Unlike the bustling pleasure districts, this area was a sanctuary for 'Iki'—the sophisticated, high-class Geisha culture of Edo. We’ll cycle toward the Sumida River, the historic water gateway that once welcomed poets and aristocrats to this elegant riverside world.

Here, we skip the modern stadium to visit Eko-in Temple, the sacred birthplace where Sumo was held for centuries. You’ll also hear the powerful story of the Great Fire of 1657 and how this district rose from the ashes to become the spiritual heart of Edo."
