1000 Razorbills observation cruise
Overview
Embark on a guided cruise from Berthier-sur-Mer to explore the distinctive razorbills (also known as Alca Torda) and learn about the wildlife, geography and history of the Île-aux-Grues archipelago. You'll have the chance to see hundreds of small penguins, which migrate from the far eastern regions of the St. Lawrence to breed on a particular island in the middle of the river.
Your adventure will begin at the Berthier-sur-Mer Marina, around a 35-minute drive from Quebec City. As you traverse the waters, step out onto the exterior decks to enjoy the fresh air and magnificent views. Feel the wind in your hair as the captain points out various points of interest in the surrounding landscape. For an unobstructed, 360-degree view, head up to the promenade deck — it's the best place to see the razorbills.
Keep an eye out for the many penguins that breed on the island at the heart of the Île-aux-Grues archipelago. A certified naturalist guide will accompany you to provide fascinating facts and detailed information about these creatures.
When it comes to onboard amenities, you're well catered for. Pop into the bistro for a bite to eat, or choose the lunch box option. Full washroom facilities are also available on all vessels to ensure your comfort throughout the cruise.
