Known as the "Silk City of India," the craft is a significant cottage industry, with many families in the region dedicated to the production of these lightweight, lightweight, lightweight silk and cotton fabrics. The textiles are often marketed by cooperative societies and master weavers, and the Pochampally saree has its own Geographical Indication (GI) tag, signifying its unique origin and craftsmanship.
