Alcatraz and Golden Gate Bridge bike guided tour
Overview
On Day 1, begin your journey with a trip to the infamous Alcatraz Island, home to one of the world’s most notorious federal prisons. Board the ferry at Fisherman’s Wharf and enjoy a self-guided audio tour, available in multiple languages. Explore the eerie, abandoned prison cells, learn about daring escape attempts, discover Alcatraz’s history as a military fort, penitentiary, and learn about Occupation of Alcatraz, when Indigenous Peoples wanted to reclaim their rights and land. Take your time exploring the island and enjoy stunning panoramic views of the San Francisco skyline and Golden Gate Bridge.
On day 2, your Golden Gate Bridge bike tour starts at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, where you’ll meet your guide. Ride past landmarks like Aquatic Park, Fort Mason, Marina Green, the Palace of Fine Arts, and Crissy Field. Stop at Fort Point for stunning views before cycling across the 1.7-mile Golden Gate Bridge to Vista Point. End the guided portion in Sausalito, a charming waterfront town. From there, explore on your own—ride further, grab a bite, or relax by the bay. Return to San Francisco by bike or ferry (ticket not included).
