Just 12 miles North of the city, see the tallest trees in the world, the Coastal Sequoias. Millions of years ago, sequoia trees grew throughout North America. Today, the Sequoias can be found only along the coast of California and Oregon. By the beginning of the 20th century, most of them were destroyed by fires and humans. One valley named Redwood Canyon remained uncut, mainly due to its relative inaccessibility. You will see majestic trees, you may meet deer, turkeys, chipmunks, and squirrels. You will enjoy the forest air and the stunning beauty of the tallest living objects on Earth.

Here you will catch a boat to Alcatraz, a small Island in San Francisco Bay where the Federal Penitentiary was located from 1934 until 1963. It held the most notorious prisoners in American history, including gangsters, notorious bank robbers, and murderers... You can spend there as much time as you want, but do not miss the last boat!
