It is unlike any other city because it represents the spiritual and cultural center of Morocco, and one of the capital cities of the Islamic civilization. Morocco’s cultural and historical capital, Fez, is a city of treasures both obvious and hidden. The city boasts elaborate architecture in its many mosques and madrassahs. This ancient medina offers each visitor an enticing labyrinth in which to wander and see Moroccan life as it has been carried on in Fez for centuries.

Another school further up the winding street of Talaa Kebira ("big street") is Bou Inania Madrassah, the finest of Fez’s theological colleges.
