Visit some of Arusha main sites on a walking tour that’s a great way to orient yourself in the city while getting a glimpse of daily life in local neighbourhoods. You’ll see the Natural History Museum, independence monuments, the Arusha Central Market, and craft shops that are ideal for picking up unique souvenirs, with a guide who will share the stories behind each destination.

Your excursion starts at the Mwenge Roundabout where your guide will explain the importance of the torch in Tanzania’s history. You continue to the Clock Tower (the mid-point between Cape Town and Cairo), Carver’s Village marketplace where you can observe ebony carvings being created, and Tanzanite Experience, a display showing the history of gem mining in Tanzania and a shop with various gemstones including Tanzanite which is only found in a small mine a few kilometres from Arusha. Lunch is served at a local restaurant.
