During our visit, we will explore colorful murals that tell stories of the Mayan worldview, and meet women weavers’ cooperatives that use natural dyes extracted from plants or tree bark to make unique textiles with ancient techniques. We will also visit indigenous art workshops, where local painters proudly represent their identity and their connection to nature. San Juan is also home to small artisan chocolate workshops and pure honey producers, where you can taste natural flavors and learn about the role of the Mayan bee in local agriculture.
