Experience the magic of Bahía Ballena, home to the world’s longest whale-watching season, lasting an incredible eight months! Witness the awe-inspiring sight of humpback whales as they migrate to these warm tropical waters.
Your adventure begins with check-in at our property, followed by a scenic 15-minute hike through Marino Ballena National Park to the beach, where you’ll board our brand-new 24-seat tour boat.
The tour takes you 15 miles offshore to prime whale and dolphin-watching areas, offering stunning views of Isla Ballena and the Three Sisters, a protected bird sanctuary. Even between whale seasons, this tour is a thrilling experience, with dolphin encounters, seabird watching, and a refreshing swim or snorkel.
From October to June, snorkel in the clear waters near Isla Ballena or the Whale’s Tail. During the rainy season (July to Sept), when visibility is lower, enjoy a rejuvenating swim in the warm Pacific.
No matter the season, this tour is an unforgettable adventure!

Take Costanera Sur/Ruta Nacional Primaria 34 south to Uvita. Pass the Rio Uvita bridge, then make a right (.75km) on the street just after the Naluri Collections Home Goods Store. Then, drive .60km until you see the Martin Adventours office on the left, 80 meters before the intersection.

Parque Nacional Marino BallenaOur office is a short walk to the entrance of the National Park. The boat departs from the beach in the park.
- The Whale's Tail (Punta Uvita) is a naturally formed landmark at Marino Ballena National Park, created by converging currents and renowned as one of the top attractions in Costa Rica. From there we head out into the ocean in search of dolphins and whales. (pass by)

We will explore greater Bahia Ballena in search of dolphins and whales. Southern Hemisphere Whales (July to October) - Enjoy the humpback whales migrating from Antarctica to breed and care for their young. Northern Hemisphere Whales (December to April) - Enjoy the humpback whales migrating from the west coast of the United States to Costa Rica. Dolphins (Year-Round) - Enjoy watching spinner, spotted, rough-toothed, and bottlenose dolphins.

Coming in from offshore, we'll explore Isla Ballena, part of the protected Bahia Ballena. Then depending on conditions, guests can enjoy clear water snorkeling in the summer (late November to April). In the winter season (May to early November), guests can take a refreshing swim in the warm waters—a fantastic experience.

Uvita BeachAfter Bahia Ballena we will travel near shore along several beaches: Playa Pinuelas, Playa Pinales, Playa Arco, Playa Colonia, and then disembark at Playa Uvita where we started.
If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
