Our first destination is the legendary Lempuyang Temple, famously known as "The Gates of Heaven." From there, the journey to the serene Tirta Gangga Water Garden, a former royal palace renowned for its stunning blend of Balinese and Chinese architecture.
Our exploration continues to Taman Ujung Sukasada, a beautifully laid-out water palace. For lunch, you can enjoy an authentic meal at a restaurant-simply inform your driver of your preference.
After lunch, we'll head to the pristine Virgin Beach, a hidden gem with a beautiful stretch of white sand and clear turquoise waters. Our final cultural stop is the ancient Tenganan Village, one of the oldest traditional villages in Bali, where unique customs are preserved. After a day of incredible sights, we will ensure a comfortable return to your hotel.

Lempuyang TempleLempuyang Temple is believed to predate the majority of Hindu temples on the island. Definitely a highlight on any travel itinerary for the fit and adventurous, the main temple lies at 1,175m above sea level, up on the peak of the namesake Mount Lempuyang in East Bali. The heights are reachable via a steep staircase of over 1,700 steps, with attractions along the way including several other temples and hordes of grey long-tailed macaques that inhabit the surrounding cool mountain forests.

Tirtagangga ParkTirta Gangga Water Palace is one of the most popular Bali Places of Interest designed and constructed in 1948 by Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem (1887 - 1966), who was the last king of Karangasem. He was a remarkable man to say the least, not only because he was the architect of the water gardens but also because he helped with the construction of the gardens.

Ujung Water PalaceTaman Ujung Sukasada is one of the most popular Bali Places of Interest located in the village of Seraya in Karangasem regency, its the sister site of Tirta Gangga, also built by the late raja of Karangasem. The complex consists of various large pools and historic structures set against a backdrop of Mount Agung and the eastern shoreline. The site suffered near devastation by showers of hot ash following the eruption of nearby Mount Agung in 1963 and also weathered an earthquake in 1979. Restoration efforts throughout the decades made way to its current splendor and it continues to appeal to both locals and visitors.

Virgin BeachVirgin Beach, White Sand Beach, Pantai Pasir Putih, and Bias Putih are all names for the same lovely stretch of white(ish) sand within easy reach from Candi Dasa, itself having no real beach to speak of. We are calling it Virgin Beach, as that’s what’s on the brand-spanking-new official sign erected when we visited in early 2016 — it saves confusion, as there’s at least one Pantai Pasir Putih (White Sand Beach) on every island of Indonesia. Additionally, white is a misnomer — and virgins come in a wider colour range.

Tenganan Ancient VillageTenganan Village is charming and has some very fascinating authentic traditional festival (ritual dances and gladiator) like Bali Aga of Tenganan often holds the battle between local youths. The people of Tenganan are skilled in the unique technique of weaving, called the double ikat, where the belief in the magical power of the fabric is essential in bringing out the beauty of the ikat cloth.
