Our Lady of the RocksOur Lady of the Rocks according to legend, the islet was made over the centuries by local seamen who kept an ancient oath after finding the icon of Madonna and Child on the rock in the sea on July 22, 1452. Upon returning from each successful voyage, they laid a rock in the Bay. Over time, the islet gradually emerged from the sea. The custom of throwing rocks into the sea is alive even nowadays. Every year on the sunset of July 22, an event called fašinada in the local dialect, when local residents take their boats and throw rocks into the sea, widening the surface of the island, takes place.

Blue CavePeople are classifying it as a natural jewel of the Mediterranean due to its natural origin. It is one of the largest in a series of caves in this peninsula, created at the foot of the 30 meters high cliffs, and is a result of thousands of years of sea waves crashing on porous rocks of Lustica. The cave has two openings, a smaller one on the south side and a larger one that’s 3 meters high and 15 meters wide, located on the southwest side. The larger opening enables entrance for barges and smaller ships into the cave, allowing tourists to witness the wonderful play of light in the waters of the Blue Cave. This natural hall, with a 9-meters-above-sea-level vault, is a unique stage for one of Mother Nature’s wonders that will leave visitors breathless.
-
Dobrec BeachDobrec beach (Dobreč plaža) is a small gravel beach, 70 meters long. It is located in the bay. Those who like private space will enjoy the beach. Since it can be reached only by boat or sea taxi, it is uncrowded. Besides beauty and privacy, there are all conveniences, such as sun loungers, umbrellas, changing rooms, shower, WC, pier, cafes and sea rescue service.
-
Bay of KotorNear a small village called Rose, there are three most impressive Submarine Tunnels which were built by the Yugoslav Army. The outside of the opening is designed and covered by fake rocks so they would not be invisible to satellites or spy planes. One of the tunnels is out towards the open sea and Mamula island, the other two are about 1-2 km towards Tivat direction. There are also a few abandoned Yugoslav Navy ships around. All tunnels are dead ends, so you cannot swim through, but you can swim to the end and back. You can also walk alongside and explore on your own. It is pretty dark at the end, so having a flashlight helps. There are also other walking tunnels diverting from the main submarine tunnel. Get off and explore the secret tunnels, go for a swim or if you are truly brave, dive off from the top of the cave into the sea.
