Overview
The only Blue Mountains private tour that takes you off the beaten track to see WILD kangaroos in their natural habitat — not in a wildlife park, no entry fee, no fences. We visit a secret guide spot near Windsor where the mob has been visiting for years, with 8,000-year-old Aboriginal rock engravings on the same sandstone outcrop and a 150-year-old colonial farm next door.
Then explore Old Windsor (founded 1810) and the Macquarie Arms Hotel — the oldest surviving pub and hotel in Australia (built 1815). Plus the iconic Three Sisters from a quieter lookout away from coach-tour crowds.
290 km of hidden Blue Mountains routes. Two variants: 8 hours with optional Scenic World, or 9 hours with a 3 km Wentworth Falls clifftop hike. Created by Andrew Sorokin, licensed Sydney guide since 2006.

CattaiWild Kangaroo Spot near Windsor (Secret Location). Our secret guide spot on the outskirts of Sydney where wild kangaroos roam free in their natural habitat — not a wildlife park, not a zoo, no entry fee. The mob has been visiting this clearing for years and it's one of the highest-rated parts of our tour. You'll watch them from a respectful distance as they graze, rest in the shade, and interact naturally. The same sandstone outcrop bears 8,000-year-old Aboriginal rock engravings, and a 150-year-old colonial farm sits next door.
-
CattaiAncient Aboriginal Rock Engravings. On the same sandstone where you watched the kangaroos, you'll see ancient rock art carved by the Darug people approximately 8,000 years ago. These engravings depict animals, hunting scenes, and ceremonial figures. Your guide will explain the cultural significance and the deep connection between Aboriginal heritage and this specific landscape.
-
Cattai150-Year-Old Colonial Farm (Working Heritage Farm). A working colonial-era farm that has been in continuous operation since the 1870s. Sandstone buildings, original farming equipment, paddocks with grazing animals — a rare glimpse of rural Australia exactly as it looked in the 19th century. The farm sits adjacent to the Aboriginal engravings site, telling the story of two cultures sharing the same land.
-
Old Windsor — Heritage Main Street (Founded 1810) Stroll the heritage main street of Old Windsor, founded in 1810 — one of the oldest European settlements in Australia. Colonial buildings, historic shops, and Thompson Square (Australia's oldest public square). On Sundays, the local Farmers Market sets up here with fresh honey, seasonal fruit, local cheeses and baked goods. Mention "Sunday market" at booking and we'll time the stop accordingly. Built in 1815, the Macquarie Arms Hotel is the oldest surviving pub and hotel in Australia. Walk through the original colonial doorway, see the heritage interior, and have a beer or coffee on the same heritage street where convicts, soldiers and early settlers gathered 200+ years ago. Andrew (your guide) knows the history personally and can show you details most visitors miss.
- We drive through Old Richmond, Australia's third-oldest European settlement (founded 1810). Heritage churches, colonial-era homes, and the Hawkesbury countryside spreads out around us. Your guide will share the stories of early settlers, convict labour, and how this region became the food bowl of early Sydney. (pass by)
-
Hawkesbury LookoutSweeping panoramic views over the Hawkesbury River and the Cumberland Plain. On clear days you can see all the way back to Sydney's CBD on the horizon. A perfect photo stop and an excellent place to understand the geography of greater Sydney before we head up into the Blue Mountains.
-
Elysian Rock LookoutA true hidden gem. We will take you away from the main tourist trails to this secluded vantage point. Enjoy the serenity, listen to the native birds, and take in the sweeping panoramic views of the valley in complete peace, without the usual tourist crowds.
-
LeuraStroll through the picturesque, tree-lined streets of Leura, known as the "Garden Village." We'll make a short stop here so you can stretch your legs, grab a quick artisan coffee, browse boutique shops, or simply admire the charming heritage homes.
-
Eagle Hawk LookoutEscape the massive crowds of Echo Point while still enjoying a phenomenal, unobstructed view of the famous Three Sisters and the vast Jamison Valley. Eagle Hawk Lookout is a fantastic, much quieter vantage point. It allows you to take incredible photos and appreciate the sheer scale of the Blue Mountains in a peaceful atmosphere. A perfect, exclusive short stop on our private itinerary.
-
KatoombaThe historic heart of the Blue Mountains. We usually stop here for lunch. Since this is your private day, the choice is yours: from a quick bite at a local cafe to a relaxing meal with a view. Your guide will provide excellent local recommendations tailored to your taste.
-
Katoomba FallsTake a refreshing, short walk through a lush, ancient rainforest to witness the beautiful Katoomba Falls cascading down the dramatic sandstone cliffs into the Jamison Valley. This serene spot offers a wonderful contrast to the expansive lookouts. It allows you to immerse yourself in the rich greenery, listen to the native birdsong, and enjoy the cool, fresh mountain air away from the heavy tourist traffic.
-
Scenic World Blue Mountains(Optional stop). Experience the thrill of the world’s steepest passenger railway, glide across the valley on the Skyway with its glass floor, and descend into the ancient Jurassic rainforest. If you choose to visit, your guide will help you navigate the attractions efficiently. (Tickets are at your own expense).
-
Cahill's LookoutA phenomenal viewpoint facing the Megalong Valley. Famous for the "Boar's Head" rock formation, this lookout offers a completely different, rugged perspective of the mountains. It's especially beautiful in the afternoon light and is much quieter than Echo Point.
-
The Three SistersNo trip to the Blue Mountains is complete without seeing the iconic Three Sisters rock formation. We will visit the famous Echo Point to capture classic photos of the sisters and learn about the fascinating Aboriginal legends surrounding them.
